LHS Library Policies and Procedures
Purpose of the Library:

Respect and Take Care of Your Library By:
1. Cleaning your footwear before entering
2. Removing your hat and sunglasses upon entering
3. Please - no eating or drinking in the library, including water
4. Clearing your area of rubbish, etc.
5. Pushing in your chair when you leave
Visiting the Library During Non-Instructional Time
1. Be respectful of others through quiet reading, research and study
2. Show your current school ID to borrow books
Visiting the Library During Class Time
1. Show your planner/pass and current student ID to the person at the circulation desk.
Make sure you have your name written on the front page and your class schedule filled in.
2. We will keep your planner at the desk, stamp your pass to verify your visit, and return to you when you leave.
3. Do not use someone else's planner! We will confiscate the planner and send to an administrator.
Borrowing Books - Borrow for you, NOT for your friend! Remember - You are responsible for all obligations under your name.
1. Need to use the current LHS ID card
2. 5 book limit, but you can renew as many times as needed
3. Two week borrowing period for most material
4. If a book is overdue, it must be returned/renewed/paid for before a student can borrow again.*
*The library is included in the school's obligation policy. Therefore, if a student has an outstanding textbook, this obligation must be cleared before participating in sports, exiting the school or participating in graduation ceremonies.
Photocopying/Print Information
Information is to be copied for educational purposes only. A coin-operated xerox machine is available for student use, for 10 cents a page. Students can also print off documents from their student account. If a student does not have the money, he/she can work in the library to offset charges.
Code of Conduct
Students are to expected to behave appropriately in the library, following school rules. If a student is not using the library properly or is unable to follow the rules, he/she may be asked to leave the library. If needed, disciplinary actions will be taken.
